1st Team Match Report
Home to Pocklinton 17/02/07

Despite plenty of effort and a great deal of heart R.I. were eventually beaten by Pocklington's well drilled pack whose efforts in the scrum and line contributed three tries to their total.   An equally balanced first 30 minutes saw both sides kick two penalties each before Pocklington edged in front with Littlefair's first of three pushover tries. Leaving the half time score 11-6 to the visitors. R.I. went further behind just after the restart when a slick move by Pocklingtons backs saw them score under the posts. The game deteriorated as a spectacle as mistakes and too much whistle led to a stop start affair but two more pushover tries gave Pocklington victory

2nd Team Match Report

Home to Barnsley 17/03/07

The match began with uncontested scrums, due to lack of forwards for RI with 2 wingers playing in the Pack. Barnsley started well with initial pressure but RI defense held strong and 10 minutes in a kick and chase from Barrie saw him dive over to put RI 5 nil up. Barnsley quickly replied with a penalty goal making the score 5-3. It was a close game with good pressure from both sides and the Barnsley No8 caused all sorts of problems breaking from the scrum. Two more tries came for RI for Ahearne and Bascombe after quick recycled ball and good support play.

The second half was a close fought game with Barnsley scoring 2 very questionable converted tries and a penalty. And Ri scoring a fantastic try with vertually every player on the side involved and Shugar finished it with great support play. With 5 mins to go Barnsley were 27-24 up, but the pace of Peas paid dividend as ever breking for a try in the corner to give RI a deserved victory.

3rd Team Match Report

YORK RI THIRDS VS YARNBURY fourths

Won 36 - 10

With both teams several players short and RI an playing with one man less trough the majority of the game it was a case of making the best of a bad situation. With plenty of space it made it an entertaining game. With RI making the best start scoring twice in the first twenty minutes, with Land scoring the first, Matt Porter playing his first ever game going over after tuts made a break and Matt supported him well. Rich Stansfield scored the other first half tri with a powerfull break down the middle.

The second Half saw Yarnbury come out best and scored two quick tri's for their efforts, before RI took control again with a couple of tri's, first from Land and another powerful run from Rich Stansfield saw him over again. With the game going into the last minute Matt Porter made an interception and went sixty yards to score another on a day that he will remember.

Great efforts by all players that were present.
